The Weather is Cooling Down…
There’s a distinct chill in the air these days, and we’re finding ourselves indoors more and more.
This has gotten us thinking of the best parts about the Fall.
Here in the Okanagan, we have four distinct and beautiful seasons.
Among our favourite things about this one are the warm glow of the sun, the fiery colours everywhere, and that unique combination of brisk energy and cozy contemplation you only find this time of year.
…So Why Not Warm Up?
We’ve noticed that some design trends tend to look particularly beautiful in the autumn light. This is one we happen to love (okay, maybe we’re a little biased!): warm, organic woods. They’re beautiful, tactile, awe-inspiring –how can you not fall in love?
By now you’ve probably seen this somewhere.
Your friend’s super modern, stark-white house with that amazing live-edge walnut kitchen island?
Your favourite urban distillery, with the long bar that looks…well…ageless.
The one-of-a-kind desk in your boss’s office, welcoming you to sit down for a face-to-face.
There’s a richness in the exposed grains, and cocoa tones. There’s a history in every burnished knot. There’s something so compelling about these pieces.
So the next time you grab a hot cup of coffee (go ahead, get a pumpkin-spiced one!), sit down at a hand-crafted, perfectly designed, warm wood table, and listen closely to the story it has to tell.
